| EXP To gain experience you must battle, of course. - When battling someone in this situation: Your Level < Opponent's Level, if you are the victor you: (Your Level + Opponent's Level) divided by 2= the amount of EXP you get.
- When battling someone in this situation: Your Level > Opponent's Level, if you are the victor you: (Your Level - Opponent's Level) divided by 2= the amount of EXP you get.
- The same as above goes for wild Pokémon battles (if yours is less, you add the two, but if yours is more you subtract one from the other)
- When battling someone/something in this situation: Your Level = Opponent's Level, if you are the victor you: ((Opponents Level divided by 2) + Your Level) divided by 2= the amount of EXP you get.
Levels - If your Pokémon reaches final evolution at levels 0-14 it takes 1 EXP to gain a level
- If your Pokémon reaches final evolution at levels 15-32 it takes 2 EXP to gain a level
- If your Pokémon reaches final evolution at levels 33-40 it takes 3 EXP to gain a level
- If your Pokémon reaches final evolution at levels 41+ it takes 4 EXP to gain a level
- If your Pokémon does not evolve it takes 2 EXP to gain a level
Some other situations: - If your Pokémon evolves by holding an item (no trade) it takes 2 EXP to gain a level
- If your Pokémon evolves by holding an item (trade) it takes 3 EXP to gain a level, but to get it to count as trading you just have to level it up to level 33.
- If your Pokémon evolves by knowing a certain move it takes 2 EXP to gain a level, but it will evolve as soon as it learns that move
- If your Pokémon evolves by knowing a certain move and getting to a certain level it takes 3 EXP to gain a level, and it evolves at the normal level if it knows the move
When your Pokémon evolves the amount of EXP it needs to evolve multiplies by 2. For example if your Pokémon needs to evolve at Level 30 it takes 2 EXP points to gain a level, once it evolves, that number 2 doubles to number 4. Evolution - If your Pokémon evolves by reaching a certain level it will evolve as soon as it hits that level (except if it holds an Everstone, or if it has two alternate evolution forms and one involves reaching a certain level and the other involves holding a stone and you have already evolved it into the stone holding form then it will not change once it hits the other one's level. For example: If you evolve Kirlia into Gallade using a Dawn Stone and then you reach Level 30 (which is when Kirlia evolves into Gardevoir) your Gallade will not transform into Gardevoir)
- If your Pokémon evolves by holding a certain item, it evolves as soon as it comes in contact with the stone.
- If your Pokémon evolves by holding a certain item then being traded, it evolves at Level 33 if it is holding the item.
- If your Pokémon evolves by learning a certain move then it evolves as soon as it learns the move.
- If your Pokémon evolves by learning a certain move and leveling it up to a certain level then it evolves once it hits the level and knows the move.
